KMA Design was selected to develop an exterior signage and wayfinding program for the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Old Westbury.
The only public four-year arts, science and business campus in Nassau County, Long Island, the College at Old Westbury features a 604-acre campus of spectacular wooded and open land located just 20 miles from the center of New York City.
The project included main entrance identification signage (including L.E.D. signage); secondary entrance signage; a comprehensive vehicular wayfinding and signage program designed to make the campus more user friendly; facility and building identification signage; pedestrian campus directionals; and a comprehensive D.O.T. program designed to serve the 604-acre campus.
The end result was another KMA custom design that complements its environmental surroundings while providing seamless transition throughout the campus allowing students, staff, faculty and visitors to enjoy the beauty of this breathtaking suburban campus.
In addition to providing conventional wayfinding, an option to add temporary information for events was necessary. Smaller primary directionals incorporate insert panels with removable calendared vinyl that could easily be changed by the client as needed.
