KMA Design was selected by the Sports & Exhibition Authority (SEA) to create new signage for the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in conjunction with the 2009 G-20 Summit held in Pittsburgh, PA.
KMA Design was given the task of creating new cohesive interior and exterior signage for the Convention Center, which included building and parking garage signs and interpretive graphics to detail the green initiatives executed in the center’s day-to-day efforts toward sustainability. The signage was designed to clearly identify the center to the large number of visitors who descend on Pittsburgh for the event, including delegates from 19 countries and the European Union, their representatives and members of the media.
External signage included both building and parking identification. Signs were created utilizing reverse-lit internally illuminated channel letters with LED lighting.
Interior signage was designed to highlight the Center’s sustainability program, “G1” (greenfirst). KMA Design incorporated the program’s logo with eye-catching graphics to highlight the facility’s recycling areas, in addition to the information that provide guests with details on the G1 program’s successes.
