About the Project

Located just outside of the city of Pittsburgh, Robert Morris University, founded in 1921, is a private four-year institution with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. KMA Design was selected to develop a comprehensive exterior signage program for the University.

The KMA team designed an exterior signage and wayfinding system for the 230-acre campus that better enables students and visitors to negotiate the growing suburban campus by establishing “neighborhoods” within the overall plan.

Looking toward the 10-year master plan build out, this segmenting of a large campus into more manageable quadrants simplifies the locating of academic, athletic, residential, and administrative functions.

Individual sign units utilize a combination of illuminated and reflective lighting sources; as well as, LED electronic message panels for special events and flexible messaging.
