The 21,000-seat home of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning opened in time for the ‘95-’96 season. The 660,000 square-foot arena is located on a 17-acre site in the Garrison Channel District of downtown Tampa. The facility’s architecture reflects strong angles and a Florida color palette. These design characteristics are complemented by the project’s graphics.
Sharp angles and folded metal arrows on black disk and an abstract of the game’s puck, serve to direct thousands of visitors throughout the seven-story facility. The signage had to be functional while aesthetically complementing the design features of this first-class sports and entertainment facility on Tampa Bay.
