George Rowland White Performance Studio is part of Point Park University’s Dance Complex located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh. The studio seats 188 patrons to meet the needs of the various projects at the conservatory and is the second largest performance space in Downtown Pittsburgh. KMA Design was tasked with development of donor recognition for the performance studio honoring Mr. White, a longtime Board member.
Art deco design elements were used to create a vintage appearance to the exterior entrance sign. The exterior sign is illuminated to enhance the presence of the studio on the Boulevard of the Allies. Cut-out letters were developed with a similar design aesthetic for the performance hall and dance studios housed within the facility. The color palette chosen for the interior signs complements the bronze “Freedom Bound” statue of Paige Bradley located in the lobby adjacent to the dance complex. Additionally, a glass dedication plaque with metal stand-offs was created honoring Mr. White’s life and contributions to the University.
