Located among moss-draped live oak trees in coastal Georgia, the Glynn County Courthouse shares its site with an original antebellum county courthouse. The two-story 45,000 square foot building is reflective of the classic southern style, including: ionic columns, pediments over the windows, a widow’s perch and a multi-story decorative balustrade.
To complement this traditional architectural design, custom signs were created to enhance the interior and exterior surroundings through a unified and consistent design theme. Letters precast into the concrete, identify the courthouse name in the portico frieze. Rich time-honored materials, including dimensional brass letters and stone panels, elegantly name courtrooms, direct users and identify functional areas.
